This is just what this area needed, a beautiful place for a snack, dessert, coffee, or a drink. Practically next to the delightful Palais Royal, Senoble is a welcomed presence in an area devoid of quality pastry. This is Paris, the city of caramel, chou, ganache, mille-feuille, and such. And yet, this immediate area has been a pastry no man's land. Senoble is steps away from "Little Tokyo" where one can easily satisfy their cravings for fantastic ramen, udon, soba, and sushi, and now there is a wonderful cafe for a great dessert to follow those lunches or dinners.
I was very excited to visit Senoble, which opened its doors just a few months ago, in the fall. This is their first cafe but the company is quite old, it dates back to 1921 when it started out as dairy purveyor in Burgundy.
A nice assortment of teas is set up on the main level.
Tempting chocolates.
Pettit chou of various flavors.
We sat upstairs where it was empty for most of our stay, my mom and I got there at about 3pm.
I found the sleek gray, blue and white decor very lovely.
How cool is this fork?
I chose two pieces of cheesecake, one was blueberry and the other mango flavored.
The biggest attraction, and their showpiece was the Flottante - a floating island. This stunning pastry is made of milk mousse, Madagascar vanilla, caramel and a crunchy biscuit.
The service was wonderful, the decor was lovely, and the food was tasty; a definite must in my book.
