Miznon Getzel, Tel Aviv

I fell in love with this cute little place, and I'm glad that it is in Tel Aviv; I  would weigh 500 lbs if I had this in New York. While looking for a breakfast restaurant we happened upon this little spot.  They have a small menu consisting of salads, pancakes, and cakes; everything is made to order and spectacular.   They make a wonderful crepe cake, which is layered with a sweet cream.   Everything on the menu is made with great care and with fresh ingredients.  There are a few tables outside and three tables inside. This place is packed with charm and personality, and it is beautifully decorated with nice country kitchen touches and eastern European detail. I could see myself spending some real quality time sitting at one of these tables, hot tea cooling in a pretty cup, a plate of something delicious tempting me, and a good book in my hand.   Blueberry, sour cream and whipped cream pancakes.  These strawberry pancakes with sweet

Miznon, Tel Aviv

Loud, small, crowded, fun and delicious, those are a few words I would use to describe Miznon.   We came to Miznon for lunch on our way to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, 40 minutes later; we left with our bellies stuffed, and big smiles on our faces.  Miznon is a small place with a three-sided counter that surrounds the overflowing with fresh vegetables prep space.  The kitchen with a griddle is in the back.  There are two locations in Tel Aviv and one in Paris. The menu is straightforward; you choose what you would like inside the heavenly fresh, and pillowy pita. There are fresh veggies everywhere.  Some sauces for those who wish to pour a bit more on their sandwich, and pita slices for noshing while you wait.  Miznon is on the list of "must try" while in Tel Aviv, I agree wholeheartedly. We were able to score a couple of stools by the counter; a perfect spot for watching the men prepare the sandwiches.  The atmosphere was very l

Sarona Market, Tel Aviv

This is a fantastic culinary market which contains close to 90 businesses.  Sarona Market is a lovely place to come for a stroll, lunch, dinner, or just to buy a delicious dessert.  There are so many choices, in fact, that we spent 20 minutes walking around just trying to decide where to eat.  A guard posted at each door will have a quick look inside your bag.  There is a great bagel shop. A picturesque olive and marinated veggies stand. An ice cream shop any kid would love. A great selection of cheeses and small appetizers can be found in this store. Teas of every kind. Delicious breads. I loved this shop where one can taste the vinegar or olive oil prior to buying.  There are plenty of places to sit down and eat. An evening music concert. Fresh pasta prepared in many different ways.  What would an Israeli market be without the Halva Kingdom?
