Garrigue is a lovely, quiet restaurant in a pretty neighborhood just off Rothschild Boulevard. We walked by the restaurant a few days prior and made a reservation after seeing the menu. The place is small, with only about 6 tables, nicely decorated with contemporary furnishings and colorful terracotta tile accents on the floor.
I liked the exposed light bulbs that hung from the ceiling.
The menu is not very extensive but creative and well thought out.
The breads alone were an indication that the chef of this restaurant pays attention to every detail and uses top quality ingredients. We were given a variety of breads, beet flavored bread sticks, and bread chips.
The beet spread was delicious, and while I don't remember the flavor of the other dip, I recall that it was very tasty.
My husband got the grilled lettuce salad with herbs, cured onion, goat cheese and vinaigrette. This was really interesting and delicious; never would I consider grilling lettuce.
My appetizer, a pate, was delicious but I wished that it would be just one slice; I felt badly leaving some food behind.
My husband really enjoyed the delicate gnocchi with goose confit, zucchini and duck consomme.
For my main course I chose duck breast with veal broth, potato puree, and blood oranges.
The duck was exquisite, deliciously flavored and perfectly cooked leaving the skin with a bit of crisp to it.

We decided to share a dessert, and this chocolate popsicle - nougat cream and bitter chocolate mousse, was wonderful.
