Our first day in Switzerland and we decided to go to France! I did not know about Yvoire until a dear friend suggested it and I was grateful that she did.
We took a 20 minute ferry from Nyon which probably contributed to the overall magical feeling I had while walking around this beautiful medieval village.

This 700 year old fishing village is a feast for the eyes. It is filled to the brim with flowers that seem to bloom from every balcony and every ledge. Yvoire has wonderfully authentic charm, a very old fashioned unspoiled beauty even though it is a very popular tourist destination.
There are plenty of restaurants, galleries and shops, I really loved this store that sold all sorts of linens and lace.

I cannot recommend a visit to Yvoire enough!! It will stay in my fondest memories and I hopefully will be able to visit it again.
