I travel to Poland quite often. I was born there and my family and friends still live there.
LOT, Polish Airline is the only airline with direct flights between New York and Warsaw.
I either fly with them or with AirFrance with a couple of days in Paris (mon amour) or BA through Heathrow.
A couple of years ago, LOT purchased the new Boeing Dreamliner airplanes. The planes are beautiful, clean and not as noisy on the inside. I have been flying LOT for over 30 years and have to say, this is a wonderful improvement. The first time I took my future husband to Poland, in 1987, he was amazed that the right side of the plane was smoking and the left not. So, basically he sat the whole flight in his non-smoking section while the guy across the little isle puffed away happily.
I have flown economy on the Dreamliner and it is really like any other economy out there. What I really like is the premium economy class. The seats are comfortable enough for a solid few hours of sleep and the service is almost Business class-like.
Wine, Champagne and water are served upon sitting and a small bag with necessities is given to each passenger.
We had a decent dinner a bit after take off.
And a good breakfast before landing.
All in all it was a really comfortable flight. The cost is higher than economy but nowhere near as high as business.
